Garden Walls Workshop Series 2023
Join us this summer for one or more 3-day immersions and help us complete our backyard patio gathering area.
The 2 courses will focus around making a winding garden wall with planters, benches, and niches, and a cook hearth. Participants will learn all stages from foundation, walls, and finishes. Healthy locally made meals and onsite camping included.
Workshop 1 ~ June 23rd - 25th
Garden Walls: Start to Finish
Learn all phases in one weekend: trench, drainage, and earthbag footing, mass walls and arches. Course covers a range of methods including Cob & Adobe, Strawbale, Heavy Strawclay, and Earthbags. Students will also learn about and apply earthen plasters and lime renders.
Another focus within this workshop includes sculpting arches on our balcony deck. Participants learn how to make and apply Heavy Straw Clay over wood timbers.
Cost: Earlybird $350 ($395 after May 15th) or join for a day $140… $655 for both workshops.

Workshop 2 ~ July 7th - 9th
Garden Walls: Benches & Wood-fired Cook Hearth
Learn how to make cob benches out of Adobe brick and Cob. Nestled into the corner of the wall, we will also make a wood-fired hearth.
Course completes with firing up the hearth to cook and share food together.
Cost: Earlybird $350 ($395 after June 15th) or join for a day $140… $655 for both workshops
